Indian-American billionaire and venture capitalist Vinod Khosla has lashed out at US President Donald Trump over his pursuit of a Nobel Peace Prize nomination, calling the move an act of “ego” and warning that a win would turn the award into a “dirtbag medal.”
Khosla’s comments on X came after US Congressman Ro Khanna urged Indian Americans who supported Trump over Kamala Harris during the US presidential elections to speak out against his sweeping tariffs on India, which Khanna said sabotaged the US–India ties.
He also shared a New York Times report that mentioned Trump’s alleged request to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a Nobel nomination after claiming credit for easing a military standoff between India and Pakistan.
However, the New York Times report added that Modi reportedly rebuffed the request, saying the ceasefire had “nothing to do” with US mediation.
