Elon Musk questioned the delay in releasing Phase 2 of the Jeffrey Epstein files, asking "Where is it?" on X. His comments come amid tensions with Donald Trump.

Amid the storm between Elon Musk and Donald Trump over the release of files related to dead sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the Tesla CEO on Thursday asked about the second phase of the files, which are yet to be released.
Quoting a post by an X user, who shared a photo of the phase 1 files, Musk wrote, “Where is Phase 2?"
As another social media user quoted Musk’s posts and questioned the whereabouts of all the evidence against Epstein, Musk wrote, “Yeah, where is it?"
“The FBI’s chain of custody for evidence is a meticulously documented process designed to ensure the integrity, authenticity, and admissibility of physical or digital items from the moment they are collected until they are presented in court or disposed of," the post reshared by Musk read.
“It serves as a chronological record that tracks every interaction with the evidence, preventing tampering, contamination, loss, or unauthorised access," it stated.
“This protocol is critical in criminal investigations, as any break in the chain can render evidence inadmissible or undermine a case," the post of the X user mentioned.
Musk’s question came hours after the US President abruptly fired federal prosecutor Maurene Comey, who had worked on high-profile criminal cases involving Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
Maurene Comey is the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, a well-known critic of President Trump.
According to The New York Times, Comey’s sudden dismissal raised concerns due to his involvement in cases that have gained renewed attention among Trump supporters in recent weeks.
She was informed of her termination in a formal letter citing Article II of the US Constitution, which describes the powers of the President, the report claimed.
