Nicholas Manning, CEO of HCA Healthcare’s West Valley Medical Centre, was found dead in his hotel room in Baltimore. People reported, police were called to the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront on June 6 following a report of a potential overdose. When officers arrived, they found Nicholas Manning, 46, unresponsive in his room. Authorities confirmed there were no signs of trauma on his body and his remains were transported to the medical examiner’s office to determine the official cause of death.

In a statement, HCA Healthcare’s West Valley Medical Centre confirmed that Nicholas Manning had been serving as its CEO. Describing him as “a dedicated and mission-driven leader," the company noted that Nicholas Manning had worked in healthcare leadership for 17 years, including 14 years with HCA Healthcare.

“Throughout his entire career journey, Nicholas Manning was a thoughtful and inspirational leader, and he will be deeply missed by all whose lives and careers he touched," Evan Ray, President of HCA Healthcare’s Mountain Division, said.

At the time of his death, Nicholas Manning was reportedly traveling for business. His family has publicly disputed the police and claimed they had evidence suggesting Nicholas Manning was the victim of fraud and homicide.

“We strongly object to the statement issued by the Baltimore Police Department," the family said, adding, “Our family is committed to pursuing every available legal and investigative avenue to ensure the truth is uncovered and justice is served."
