In an unusual late-night incident, three Indian tourists found themselves at the center of a police mediation drama after a disagreement with a local bar girl over her physical appearance.
Pattaya, long known for its vibrant mix of entertainment and nightlife, attracts millions of tourists each year. However, for three visitors from India, what was meant to be a fun night out quickly took an unexpected turn.
According to Pattaya Mail, the night began at a popular bar, where the group negotiated with a local “bar girl" to accompany them back to their hotel for the agreed price of 3,000 baht each.
Once pleasantries and terms were settled, the entourage made their way to a hotel room on Soi Pattaya Beach 11. The woman received an initial payment, reportedly as a deposit, expecting the remainder after their arrival.
However, as the evening proceeded, the atmosphere grew uneasy. Pattaya Mail reported that the Indian tourists voiced their disappointment, claiming that the woman’s physical appearance—particularly her chest size—did not match the expectations they had based on their earlier discussions. Feeling let down, the men asked her to leave immediately.
But the bar girl stood her ground, insisting she had delivered on her side of the agreement by arriving and being ready to provide her company. She refused to go unless the full, pre-arranged amount was paid.
As negotiations failed, the tourists excused themselves under the pretense of withdrawing more cash. Instead, they made their way to the local police station and filed a complaint, alleging that the woman was refusing to leave their hotel room.
As the patrol officers arrived on the scene, the woman explained she wanted to be paid as agreed for her time, while the tourists claimed they felt misled and did not want to pay the full sum, Hindustan Times reported.
The involvement of the authorities quickly turned the private negotiation into a public affair. Officers listened to both parties and explained the possible repercussions if the dispute was not settled calmly. They warned that if the altercation escalated, both sides could face charges related to public nuisance, misrepresentation, or even more serious accusations under Thai law.
After several rounds of mediation, tempers cooled. Eventually, all parties agreed on a partial refund; the woman would retain a portion of the deposit to cover her time, and the tourists would not have to pay the full amount.
