3,000 Agniveers guarded key installations during Op Sindoor against Pakistan attack

Operation Sindoor saw 3000 Agniveers, aged 20-22, manning critical air defence systems alongside experienced soldiers. Each air defence unit reportedly had 150 to 200 Agniveers, primarily deployed along the Western Front. They operated across four specialised trades: gunners, fire control operators, radio operators, and drivers of heavy-duty, gun and missile-mounted vehicles. Their performance matched that of regular soldiers, defending Indian military installations against Pakistani incursions into Indian airspace.
