US President Donald Trump on Tuesday issued a stark warning to potential criminals in Washington, DC, signalling that prosecutors would seek the death penalty for anyone convicted of murder in the nation’s capital.
"If somebody kills somebody in the capital, Washington, DC, we’re going to be seeking the death penalty, and that’s a very strong preventative," Trump said, underlining his administration’s hardline approach to crime in the city.
