US President Donald Trump on Friday said he has a “backup plan" after the country’s Supreme Court ruled that he exceeded his authority in imposing sweeping tariffs under emergency powers.

In a six-three decision on Friday, the conservative-majority court held that the Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) does not authorise the president to impose tariffs.
