Trump’s remarks come days after Nicki Minaj shared posts and images describing herself as the president’s “No. 1 fan”

Rapper Nicki Minaj and US President Donald Trump
US President Donald Trump publicly praised rapper Nicki Minaj during a Black History Month reception at the White House, calling her “so beautiful" and declaring himself a fan. Addressing the gathering, Trump singled out Nicki Minaj and complimented her appearance.
“How about Nicki Minaj? Do we love Nicki Minaj? I love Nicki Minaj… Skin so beautiful, she’s so beautiful," he said.

He also recounted a private interaction with the rapper, focusing on her trademark long nails.
“I said, ‘Nicki, you’re so beautiful.’ Her nails are like that long… But she was so beautiful and so great, and she gets it, more importantly," he added.
Trump’s remarks come days after Nicki Minaj publicly expressed support for him and attended a Trump-backed event. The rapper shared posts and images describing herself as the president’s “No. 1 fan", while photos and videos of the two together- including one appearing to show them holding hands- circulated widely on social media. She was also seen displaying a Trump “gold card" visa, which offers residency and a pathway to US citizenship.

Nicki Minaj also appeared as a keynote speaker at the World Liberty Forum, a Trump-aligned event, where she spoke about the music industry and the creator economy. During her remarks, she suggested that criticism of Trump had only strengthened her support, describing attacks against him as “smear campaigns" and saying she believed he was being protected.
Nicki Minaj also posted an AI-generated image showing herself and Trump in a convertible. Wearing pink tracksuits, she appeared behind the wheel while Trump counted cash in the passenger seat.
Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Nicki Minaj moved to the United States as a child and went on to become one of the most influential female rappers of her generation. Often dubbed the “Queen of Rap", she is widely credited with helping drive the mainstream resurgence of female rap since the 2010s.
