Eric Trump, the 41-year-old son of US President Donald Trump, swapped boardrooms for the sumo ring during a recent trip to Japan. As Eric Trump arrived in Tokyo for a shareholder meeting with Metaplanet, he made time for a uniquely Japanese experience- stepping into the dohyo against a sumo great.

Video from the event shows Eric Trump, dressed in a sky-blue polo shirt and denim shorts, pushing against a towering Yokozuna, one of the sport’s highest-ranked wrestlers. For a moment, his height and leverage gave him an edge but the champion quickly countered, wrapping his arms around Eric Trump’s waist, lifting him clean off the ground and carrying him out of the ring with ease.

“Not every day you get called into the ‘ring’ by the great Yokozuna! These men are incredible. A truly great honour! I’ll be sticking to real estate," Eric Trump joked on Instagram, where he also shared a photo alongside Yokozuna and five other wrestlers.

The lighthearted encounter went viral on social media, racking up millions of views online. Many viewers praised Eric Trump’s humour in the face of defeat. One social media user wrote, “Lol, this was great! Made me laugh so much when he swung you around", while another added, “Much respect to this sport. I can’t tell from the vid, but I know Hoshoryu is a Yokozuna. He took it easy on you inside the dohyo!"
