US President Donald Trump personally reached out to “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie to offer support as authorities intensify the search for her missing mother, the White House confirmed.

Trump called Guthrie on Wednesday as the hunt in Arizona for her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, stretched into its fourth day. According to NBC News, the President expressed sympathy for the family and pledged that every available federal resource would be used in the investigation.

Guthrie thanked the President for reaching out, telling him the family was devastated and in need of prayers more than anything else, the report said.

Trump made the call shortly after concluding an interview at the White House with NBC correspondent Tom Llamas.

“After our interview, the president called Savannah Guthrie and spoke to her, offering words of support for her and her family,” Llamas said during a special report.

DISAPPEARANCE DECLARED A CRIME

Nancy Guthrie was last seen Saturday night around 9:45 p.m., after being dropped off at her Tucson home by her son-in-law. Police believe she was abducted from the house sometime later that night.

She was reported missing on Sunday after failing to attend church, and authorities declared the case a suspected crime on Monday.

The White House on Tuesday shared Nancy Guthrie’s photograph and identifying information, saying: “Our prayers are with the Guthrie family as we hope for Nancy’s safe return home.”

SEARCH EXPANDS IN ARIZONA

The investigation is being led by the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, with the Federal Bureau of Investigation supplementing local efforts by assisting with digital warrants and analyzing cell tower data to identify activity near the home.

Sheriff Chris Nanos said investigators believe Nancy was taken against her will and do not think she left on her own. Authorities also confirmed signs of forced entry at the residence.

Officials said no suspect or person of interest has been identified.

HEALTH CONCERNS AND DIFFICULT TERRAIN

Authorities noted that Nancy Guthrie has limited mobility and underlying health conditions, including heart issues and a pacemaker, heightening concerns for her safety.

Search efforts have been complicated by the rugged desert terrain around the upscale Catalina Foothills neighborhood, where dense vegetation, long driveways and limited lighting reduce visibility.

NATIONAL ATTENTION AND FAMILY SUPPORT

Multiple media outlets reported receiving purported ransom notes, which have been turned over to investigators. The sheriff’s office said it is reviewing all tips but declined to comment on the notes.

On the East Coast, Victory Church in Albany, New York, announced a $25,000 reward for information leading to Nancy Guthrie’s safe return.

NBC confirmed that Savannah Guthrie has stepped away from on-air duties, including coverage of the 2026 Winter Olympics, to remain with her family during the crisis.
