Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights:The Nifty closed above the 25,100 mark for the sixth consecutive session, rising 37 points to end at 25,141, while the Sensex gained 123 points to settle at 82,515. Despite the positive close for the frontline indices, the broader market lagged, with the Nifty Midcap index ending 293 points lower at 59,388 and the Nifty Bank falling 169 points to 56,460.
Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The market ended on a mixed note on Wednesday, with benchmark indices outperforming the broader market. Gains in IT and oil & gas stocks provided key support, with the Nifty IT index rising 1% and the oil and gas sectoral index advancing 1.4%. Financials, on the other hand, dragged the market.
Oil marketing companies gained between 3–4% after the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) projected Brent crude prices to fall to $59 by 2026. Oil India surged 7% following a brokerage note forecasting an 80% earnings growth over the next three years. Sula Vineyards also rallied 8% after the Maharashtra government exempted wine from the recent excise duty hike.
