Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The Sensex rose 450 points to 85,268, while the Nifty gained 148 points to end at 26,047. Nifty Bank added 180 points to 59,390, and the midcap index climbed 705 points to 60,283.
Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The market ended the week on a weaker note, with all major indices closing in the red. Barring metals, all sectoral indices slipped, led by declines in defence and PSU bank stocks. InterGlobe Aviation, Asian Paints, BEL and Hindustan Unilever were among the top Nifty laggards, falling between 3% and 10%. On the gaining side, Hindalco, Grasim, Tata Steel and Eternal topped the Nifty list. In the broader market, Bharat Dynamics, Coforge, Mazagon Dock and M&M Financial Services were the major midcap losers, while Hindustan Zinc, Vodafone Idea, Bandhan Bank and SRF led the midcap gainers.
The market extended its gains for a second straight day, with the Nifty closing above 26,200. The midcap index outperformed and market breadth favoured advances. Except FMCG, all sectoral indices ended higher, with metal and realty stocks leading the rally. Thirty-eight Nifty stocks closed in the green, with Hindalco, Tata Steel and Adani Power topping the gainers’ list. Hindustan Zinc, Vodafone Idea, Bandhan Bank and SRF were the top midcap performers, rising 2–7%.
