'Some Of Them Are Spies': Nikki Haley's Son Calls For Limiting Foreign Students In US Universities

Nalin Haley, son of former US ambassador to the UN and Republican leader Nikki Haley, called for imposing a limit on foreign students in American universities and said “some of them are spies for the foreign governments".

In a podcast with Tucker Carlson, Nalin said: “Naturalised citizens should not be able to hold public office. Growing up here is a big part of understanding the country. We need to stop and limit the amount of foreign students who are coming to universities. Some of them are spies for the foreign governments…But it is just that we should put our kids first."

He pointed out people should have their loyalty to US first. “We should also not allow dual citizenship because that is the stupidest idea. Because you are either American or not," he said.

Replying to a question about serving in the foreign military, Nalin said: “That idea alone is insane. Dual citizenship is already bad enough. But to serve in another country’s military is disqualifying."

This comes days after Indian-origin and former US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley’s son raked up controversy by saying the US should halt not only illegal but also legal immigration, arguing that there are no jobs left for young Americans.

Speaking to UnHerd, the 24-year-old said many in his generation, including his own friends, are struggling to find work despite holding top college degrees.

“My friend group from high school, all graduated, great degrees from great schools. It’s been a year and a half, and not one of them has a job—not one," Haley said. “I’m angry at that, because I’m having to try and help my friends get jobs when their parents got jobs immediately—not just after graduating college, but out of high school."

In an interview with Fox News, Nalin called for a stricter stance on immigration and an end to H-1B visas. “What we saw with Obama is that we had a lot of immigrants coming here, and the thought was, ‘Oh, you don’t need to change. You don’t need to have your loyalty to America. You could be who you are’. No, you need to assimilate. And you need to act like an American and support American values and support American workers and American people," he said.
