The cafe, owned by comedian Kapil Sharma and his wife Ginni Chatrath, was attacked earlier on July 11

The cafe, celebrated for its pink-and-white interiors and artisan desserts, had recently held a soft launch when, late Sunday night, it was attacked by gunfire.
Shots were fired at comedian and actor Kapil Sharma’s cafe in Canada on Thursday morning, the second such incident in a month.
Kap’s Café, located in Surrey, British Columbia, is owned by comedian Kapil Sharma and his wife Ginni Chatrath. The cafe came under a similar attack on July 10, which authorities believe was orchestrated by the Laddi gang linked to the banned Khalistani terrorist outfit Babbar Khalsa (BKI).
Last week, the cafe hosted Surrey mayor Brenda Lock and local policemen.
In a post on Instagram, Kapil Sharma shared a video clip of the get-together and wrote, “United we stand against violence."
Harjit Singh Laddi is a fugitive wanted in India on multiple terrorism-related charges. He is suspected to be a key figure behind a series of violent attacks targeting Hindu leaders and individuals with pro-India affiliations.
Laddi, alongside his associate Kulbeer Singh, also known as Sidhu, is believed to have orchestrated the assassination of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Prabhakar on April 13, 2024, in Nangal, located in Punjab’s Rupnagar district. The two are also being investigated for allegedly funding terror networks and recruiting individuals to carry out targeted killings.
India’s Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for credible information leading to Laddi’s capture. In 2023, Punjab Police exposed a Babbar Khalsa (BKI) module in Ludhiana linked to Laddi and another handler.
Cops Begin Probe
Meanwhile, the police in Surrey began their investigation into the firing incident. In a statement, Surrey Police said multiple shots caused damage to the windows and building but no injuries were reported.
“At approximately 4:40 am on August 7, 2025, SPS Frontline officers responded to a report of shots fired outside a business in the 8400 block of 120 Street. The same business was the location of a similar incident on July 10, 2025.
