In a setback for Asian Paints, the Supreme Court has dismissed the company's plea challenging the Competition Commission of India's (CCI) investigation into a complaint filed by Grasim Industries.
The apex court's decision upholds the Bombay High Court's earlier order, which had allowed the CCI to proceed with its probe against the paint major.
With this dismissal, the Supreme Court has effectively cleared the way for the CCI to continue its investigation into allegations made by Grasim.
Asian Paints had approached the Supreme Court after the Bombay High Court refused to interfere with the CCI's directive to conduct an investigation.
