Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Domestic equity benchmarks ended in the red on Wednesday, with the Nifty slipping below the 24,000 mark as heavyweights weighed on sentiment. The Sensex fell 715 points to close at 76,755, while the Nifty declined 191 points to settle at 23,996.

Selling was broad-based, with nearly 40 Nifty constituents ending lower. The Nifty Bank index dropped 709 points to 57,127, while the Nifty Midcap index fell 687 points to 62,301. Market breadth remained weak, with the advance-decline ratio at 2:5.

Heavyweights remained a drag on the benchmarks, with IT stocks, Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank among the key losers. Pharma stocks also came under pressure after US President Donald Trump's comments on tariffs for generic drugs, with Lupin and Aurobindo Pharma emerging among the biggest losers.

Among individual stocks, IndiGo was the top Nifty loser, tracking crude oil price movement and concerns around competition. Bandhan Bank plunged 17% after a mixed set of quarterly results and a cut in its return on assets (RoA) guidance. Oracle Financial Services Software declined 7% ahead of its June quarter results.

On the other hand, auto stocks bucked the broader weakness. TVS Motor and Bajaj Auto gained following strong first-quarter earnings and positive management commentary. Nestle India rose 3% after reporting an all-round beat in its June quarter results.

Eternal reported a mixed set of quarterly earnings, though positive commentary helped the stock recover during the session. Adani Green Energy and Adani Power fell 2-3.5% after reacting negatively to their quarterly results. SRF declined more than 3% despite reporting a quarterly earnings beat, while BPCL slipped over 2% after reporting a loss in the June quarter, dragging other oil marketing companies lower.

Elsewhere, Kalyan Jewellers extended its gaining streak and is now up 54% this month. Tips Music ended 12% lower after deferring its buyback proposal.
