Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: We are at the halfway mark of the day's trade for the final session of this week. The markets, contrary to indicators, are trading on a strong footing. The Nifty index is surging with gains of over 200 points as it looks to close the week on a high. The Nifty Bank is also trading higher, rising over 500 points, now above 57,800.Jio Fin, Tech Mahindra and Infosys are the top gainers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: It is past noon at Dalal Street, and the indices, after a minor slump, are swinging back to the high points of the day. The markets are moving with some strong momentum; the Nifty index is up over 200 points, jumping to 24,300. The Sensex is up over 750 points, jumping to 78,000. The Nifty 50 index remains locked in the 23,800 - 24,200 - 24,300 range.
In anticipation of these results, the Nifty Bank has also been volatile with the index managing to hold on to 57,500 on the downside, even as 58,000 has become a barrier.
All eyes will now be on the next two days when more than one-third of the index will be reporting results for the quarter, starting with Reliance Industries later this evening. The period will culminate with HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Yes Bank, all reporting results on Saturday.
Earnings reactions today come from Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Jio Financial, CEAT, Piramal Finance, among others, while besides RIL, Federal Bank, Havells India, JSW Steel, RBL Bank, Tata Tech also report results today.
