Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Markets are in a volatile space, as indices move back and forth. The Nifty is around the 23,150 mark. Nifty Bank is under a bit of pressure, falling to 55,700. SBI, Ultratech and ONGC are top gainers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets are living up to the Nifty expiry day volatility expectations; the index is bouncing between red and green. The Nifty is moving around 23,100. The Sensex is below the 74,700 mark. This comes on the back of two straight weekly gains. The index last saw two straight weekly gains in July-August.
The week begins with the Nifty weekly expiry today as Tuesday will be a holiday on account of Dusshera. There is every reason to believe that the recovery may continue, but there are reasons to be cautious too.
Banking stocks are trading in a mix, the Nifty PSU Bank indices are trading much higher, compared to their private counterparts, that are trading lower.
For the Nifty, 23,200 - 23,250 will be the first hurdle on the upside, while the bulls may want to now protect 23,000 on the downside. If that does not happen, 22,950 - 22,900 zone could be a key support.
For the Nifty Bank, 55,500 will remain a support, while 56,000 - 56,200 zone key on the upside.
