Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets continue to remain volatile. The Nifty is trading around 26,000, with a decline of around 20 points. The Sensex index is also trading in a volatile space, with an uptick of around 50 points, moving around 85,200. The Indian Rupee remains in focus after hitting a fresh low of 90.42 against the US dollar.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Today is a very important trading session for the Indian markets. Not only is it the Sensex weekly expiry, but also the start of Russian President Vladimir Putin's two-day India tour. Today is also the last trading session before the RBI policy on Friday.
Despite ending lower for the fourth day in a row, the Nifty bulls would go into today's session with some hope. The index saw a 100-point recovery from the lows of the day on Wednesday, led by private lenders and IT stocks.
The rupee, after hitting a new record low of 90.29, also saw some support towards close. The Nifty is back at the 26,000 mark and the bulls would look to sustain above that. Wednesday's low of 25,891 will become an important level on the downside.
For the Nifty Bank, which led the recovery on Wednesday, 59,500 is an important level on the upside. Keep an eye on any further selling pressure in PSU Banks, Vodafone Idea ahead of some important meetings in Delhi, Defence stocks ahead of Putin's visit and the last day for HUL's F&O contracts before its demerger takes effect on Friday.
