Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty heads into the final trading day of the week after witnessing a record high and mandatory profit booking after a major event during the same session. 14 months after its previous record, the Nifty scaled new highs of 26,310 on Thursday but could only sustain a fraction of those gains by close, ending nearly 100 points off the session's highs.
The final trading day of the month of November may also see lacklustre trading activity on lower volumes as the action begins from next week, with auto sales, RBI policy and multiple companies with shareholder lock-ins ending.
The Nifty Bank came within 130 points of the 60,000 mark but cooled off from those levels, yet managed a 200-point gain, keeping the Nifty in the green as well by closing.
