Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets returned to the bourse for the midweek session after a fairly triumphant Nifty weekly expiry session that saw the 50 stock index soar a mammoth 350 points to close at the day's high, above the 22,700 mark.
Not just Nifty 50, the broader market including the Nifty Bank, and the Nifty Midcap soared over 1%. The Nifty Smallcap 100 did not have a remarkable day, as it closed flat with a positive bias.
While Brent crude still remains above $100, in fact close to the $105 mark, the US markets, which returned from a long weekend, closed lower amid a downturn of chip stocks.
Earnings are at the front and centre, in the first proper week of the Q2 results season some of the stocks that are in focus after announcing their results are Hero Motors, ICICI Pru, Trans and Rectifiers, Tata Elxsi, and more.
Other companies that are slated to announce their results are Bajaj Consumer, BHEL, Tata Tech, Leela Hotels among others.
