Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: After trading above the flat line for the better part of the session, a sharp fall in index heavyweight Reliance Industries dragged the Nifty lower, ensuring a close below the 25,500 mark.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: There is still no clear direction as to where the Nifty 50 index is headed as it continues to remain locked in a range. The average price range for the Nifty over the last month has been between 180 and 200 points. Wednesday was no different.
After trading above the flat line for the better part of the session, a sharp fall in index heavyweight Reliance Industries dragged the Nifty lower, ensuring a close below the 25,500 mark.
Today is the weekly option expiry of the Nifty 50 contracts. Not just that, the June quarter earnings season officially begins today with India's largest IT services provider, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), reporting results after market hours today.
The other Tata Group stock reporting results today will be Tata Elxsi. IT stocks will also be in focus as the Nasdaq ended at a record high overnight, powered by Nvidia's surge en route to becoming the first company with a $4 trillion market cap. Trade remains a focal point with no clarity emerging on the mini deal between India and the US.
Wall Street continued to edge higher even as US President Donald Trump issued letters to more countries last night, including a 50% tariff threat to Brazil. Keep an eye out for PSU Banks today, particularly those with less free float, along with names like LIC.
