Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The Indian markets after a day of ups and downs, finally closed in green for major indices. The Nifty closed with gains of 30 points, rising to 25,910. The Sensex index rose by 80 points, rising to 84,562. Eternal, Bharat Electronics, Trent, SBI, Jio Fin, Axis Bank are among the major gainers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: After a volatile session, the Indian markets closed the session and and the week on a positive note, breaking a 2-week long losing streak.
The midcap index had comparable gains, while the Sensex and Nifty both saw weekly increases of around 2%. Shares in the defence and IT sectors performed better, with the defence sectoral index rising by almost 4%, the largest sector gain of the week.
Asian Paints, Adani Enterprises, InterGlobe Aviation, and HCLTech lead the 35 Nifty stocks that finished higher.
Among the biggest laggards were Apollo Hospitals, Bajaj Finance, Trent, and Tata Steel. The largest midcap gains in the overall market were Samvardhana Motherson, Muthoot Finance, Vodafone Idea, and NALCO.
