Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: Sensex jumped 944 points to 81,667 and Nifty gained 263 to 25,088. Power Grid surged 8%, Tata Motors PV, Adani Ports, BEL rose. IT lagged, while banks and midcaps rallied.

Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: Markets closed in the green today, ending the session at the day’s high after a volatile trade. The Sensex jumped 944 points to 81,667, while the Nifty gained 263 points to settle at 25,088, reclaiming the 25,050 mark.
All sectoral indices finished higher except IT, with buying seen across banks, power, autos and capital market stocks. The Nifty Bank rose 202 points to 58,619, while the Midcap index added 547 points to 57,668.
On the Nifty, Power Grid surged 8% after raising its FY26 capex guidance to ₹32,000 crore from ₹28,000 crore, while Tata Motors PV, Adani Ports, Tata Consumer and BEL gained 4–8%. In the midcap space, MRPL, Hind Zinc, HPCL and Bharat Forge climbed 5–10%.
Capital market stocks such as BSE and Angel One rebounded up to 5% following Sunday’s sell-off. On the downside, Insecticides India slipped nearly 1% from the day’s highs.
Market breadth remained neutral, with the NSE advance-decline ratio at 1:1.
