Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: Sensex rose 222 points to 82,566 and Nifty closed at 25,419. Nifty Bank outperformed, led by Axis Bank and ICICI Bank. Hindustan Copper hit a record high, while Asian Paints declined sharply.

Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: Indian equities ended higher, with the Nifty reclaiming the 25,400 mark despite weak market breadth. The Sensex rose 222 points to 82,566, while the Nifty added 76 points to close at 25,419.
The Nifty Bank outperformed, climbing 359 points to 59,958, led by gains in Axis Bank, AU Small Finance Bank, ICICI Bank and Federal Bank. The Nifty Midcap 100 edged up 102 points to 58,541, even as the NSE advance-decline ratio stood at 2:3, indicating broader selling pressure.
Among sectors, metal stocks extended gains for a third straight session, with Hindustan Copper hitting a record high. On the Nifty, L&T jumped 4% after its Q3 results, while Tata Steel and Coal India also supported the index.
On the downside, Maruti Suzuki slipped over 2%, Asian Paints declined nearly 11% over the last four sessions, emerging as the top Nifty loser on the day. Deepak Fertilisers fell over 6%, while Canara Bank slid nearly 8% and KPIT Tech fell 6% post earnings.
