Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The markets closed in the green, however, and recovered from the day's low. The Nifty ended a second consecutive week in green. The Nifty bank closed with a slump of 278 points. Infosys, Tech Mahindra and TCS are the top laggards as market came to a close.
Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The Sensex fell 607 points to 76,803 on Friday, June 19, while the Nifty fell 155 points to 24,013. Despite recovering from the day's lows, the stock benchmark indices concluded the day lower.
The worst-performing sectoral indicator was the Nifty IT index, which fell 4% following Accenture's reduction in its sales growth forecast. Among the biggest losers on the Nifty were IT giants Infosys, TCS, HCLTech, and Tech Mahindra.
The biggest winners from the Sensex basket were Trent Ltd., Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd., Titan Company Ltd., Nestle India Ltd., NTPC Ltd., and Bharti Airtel Ltd. The largest laggards were Infosys Ltd., Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., Tech Mahindra Ltd., HCL Technologies Ltd., HDFC Bank Ltd., and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
