Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: Markets recovered sharply from intraday lows to end marginally higher on Wednesday, with benchmark indices rebounding over 1% amid gains in Reliance Industries, metal stocks and select banks. The Sensex rose 118 points to close at 75,318, while the Nifty ended 41 points higher at 23,659.

The Sensex rose 118 points to close at 75,318, while the Nifty ended 41 points higher at 23,659.
The Nifty Bank index gained 153 points to 53,562, while the Midcap index outperformed with a rise of 301 points to 61,323. Market breadth remained neutral with the NSE advance-decline ratio at 1:1.
Reliance Industries, Hindalco, Axis Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra were among the top contributors to the Nifty’s gains. Hindalco climbed over 3% after Novelis reported strong quarterly results.
OMC stocks ended at the day’s highs following strong management commentary from BPCL, while the rupee hit a fresh record low of 96.96 against the US dollar intraday.
Among individual stocks, Tata Communications jumped over 7%, IRB Infrastructure surged nearly 6% from the lows on Q4 results, and Avalon Technologies gained about 8% after Nomura initiated coverage with a “buy” rating.
PI Industries emerged as the top midcap loser, declining over 7% after weak Q4 earnings.
