Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The Nifty Bank index outperformed, jumping 967 points, or over 1.5%, to 58,150, with all constituents ending in the green except Canara Bank. Nifty IT emerged as the top-performing sectoral index after Axis Capital upgraded multiple IT stocks, while the Nifty India Defence index was the worst performer.

Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: Indian benchmark indices ended near the day's highs today, with the Sensex rising 791 points to 76,991 and the Nifty gaining 198 points to close above the 24,000 mark at 24,022. Financial heavyweights HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank, along with Infosys, were among the top contributors to the gains.

The Nifty Bank index outperformed, jumping 967 points, or over 1.5%, to 58,150, with all constituents ending in the green except Canara Bank. Nifty IT emerged as the top-performing sectoral index after Axis Capital upgraded multiple IT stocks, while the Nifty India Defence index was the worst performer.

Broader markets lagged the benchmarks, with the Nifty Midcap index adding 65 points. Market breadth remained neutral, with the NSE advance-decline ratio at 1:1.

Among individual stocks, IndiGo's market capitalisation crossed the ₹2 lakh crore mark again after the stock recovered losses triggered by the Iran conflict. Tata Motors gained over 2% after outlining its FY28 outlook for the commercial vehicle business, while Oberoi Realty rose more than 3% after receiving RERA approval for a Gurugram project. IRFC fell over 5% after the government announced a 2% stake sale through an offer for sale (OFS) at ₹91 per share.
