RVNL secures ₹144 crore order from South Central Railway

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) has announced that it has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) in a tender floated by South Central Railway, securing a contract valued at ₹144.44 crore for overhead electrification (OHE) system upgradation works.

According to the company’s filing, the project involves the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the upgradation of the existing 1x25kV system to a 2x25kV AT feeding system, including feeder and earthing works. The work will be executed in the Ramgundam (RDM) – Kazipet (KZJ) section of the Secunderabad Division under South Central Railway, covering a total distance of 92 route kilometres (RKM) / 276 track kilometres (TKM).

The contract is expected to be completed within 18 months, and RVNL clarified that the order falls under the normal course of business for the company. The total project cost amounts to ₹144.44 crore.

The shares of the Navratna CPSE ended 1.3% in the red on Friday, October 17. The stock has fallen 22.5% in the year so far.
