He also called on peace advocates to unite behind the safe release of hostages, highlighting the urgent need for diplomatic solutions amid escalating violence.
In an address at the United Nations on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump has warned that recognising a Palestinian state at this stage would be “too great a reward for Hamas.” He stressed the urgency of ending the conflict in Gaza, saying, “We have to stop the Gaza war immediately.”
Trump also called on international actors advocating for peace to focus on the safe release of hostages, stating, “Those who want peace should unite behind hostage release.”
The US President’s remarks come amid escalating tensions in the region, as violence in Gaza has intensified and diplomatic efforts to broker a ceasefire continue.
