Net profit at ₹685 crore, margins beat expectations

Shares of Polycab India Ltd., the wires and cables manufacturer are trading little changed ahead of the company's September quarter results, that will be reported in a few minutes from now.

A CNBC-TV18 poll expects Polycab's revenue to grow by 18% from last year to ₹6,474 crore, while its Earnings before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) for the quarter is likely to grow by 45% on a year-on-year basis to ₹915 crore.

EBITDA margin for the quarter may grow by 260 basis points from last year to 14.1% from 11.5%, while net profit may see a 46% jump to ₹651 crore from ₹445 crore last year, according to the CNBC-TV18 poll.

The company's likely to report 20% revenue growth led by growth in the Wires & Cables segment. The domestic growth is likely to remain robust due to demand momentum in cables, healthy pricing, and positive channel sentiment led by a rally in copper prices.

Brokerages like Kotak are expecting the company's Fast Moving Electrical Goods (FMEG) business to grow by 15% from last year, as weakness in the fans business could be offset by robust growth in other segments.

Updated guidance from the management for the full year, demand outlook for domestic and export market and updates on any potential capacity addition plans will be some key factors to watch from Polycab's earnings statement.

Shares of Polycab India are trading little changed ahead of the results at ₹7,593. The stock is up 4% in the last one month and a similar quantum on a year-to-date basis.
