She made that vow in a yet-to-be-released book 'Inshallah Bangladesh: The Story of an Unfinished Revolution' written by Deep Halder, Jaideep Mazumdar and Sahidul Hasan Khokon.

In one of her most direct attacks so far, Sheikh Hasina called Bangladesh's Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus the architect behind the power transfer.

Exiled, battered, living in a secret location, yet the fire in her belly and angst in her soul are defying her age. In an Eid pleasantry that turned her first media conversation since fleeing to India on August 5, 2024 – betrayed by people she trusted the most – Hasina has vowed to return to Bangladesh to “deliver justice", almost sounding like old Hindi movies where the hero returned from exile to snatch what they thought was just. Blaming it on “imposters" and “terror apologists", Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister vowed for the first time, “Inshallah, I shall return. I will deliver justice to my people and bring to book these people who have betrayed my nation. Listen, people now know they have been betrayed, they want to be set free from the clutches of these imposters."

She made that vow in a yet-to-be-released book ‘Inshallah Bangladesh: The Story of an Unfinished Revolution’ written by Deep Halder, Jaideep Mazumdar and Sahidul Hasan Khokon and published by Juggernaut, where she is quoted.

In one of her most direct attacks so far, she called Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus the architect behind the power transfer – a strong allegation. “You know who is the main man behind all of this? It is Yunus," Hasina alleges in the book.

But why would a Nobel laureate do US bidding and be part of alleged regime change? “The Americans wanted St Martin’s Island from me. If I had agreed, they would not have removed me from power. But I did not agree to sell my country to remain premier. It was the Americans who used Yunus to plot against me and remove me. Yunus was behind the plotting, financing, and execution of the terror attack on Bangladesh during July–August last year at the behest of the Americans. He is a cheat who has destroyed his country for his ambitions. Now he and his coterie are looting the country and running it to the ground," Hasina went on.

While her allegations against the US and it eyeing the St Martin Island aren’t new, what’s new, however, is calling the student uprising a “terror act" and alleging that Yunus was “plotting, financing and executing" it, long before his name emerged as a consensus candidate from the student-led protests. Pro-Hasina lobby cite past photos of then US President Biden and Yunus which they insist speak volumes of Yunus’s proximity to the US.

The author quoting Hasina in the book has cited how the former Bangladeshi PM refused to acknowledge the student agitation that unseated her as “revolution". “Don’t call it a revolution!" Instead, she prefers to call it a terror attack. “It was a terror attack on Bangladesh disguised as a students’ revolt planned by America and executed by Pakistan. It was done to remove me from power."

This is a charge also repeated by Bangladesh’s second most powerful person back then, in the book – Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal – who accused ISI of infiltrating the students protest and pretending to kill on behalf of police to create unrest in the country.
