Parliament Monsoon Session Day 6 Live Updates: The Operation Sindoor debate began in Lok Sabha on Monday after initial delays due to disruptions in the House. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh began the debate in Lok Sabha, explaining how, through Operation Sindoor, the Indian armed forces hit nine terror targets in Pakistan and PoK and killed over 100 terrorists. He also said that the Operation was stopped because India’s objective was achieved and not under pressure.
“We stopped action because our objectives were met. It is baseless and wrong that the Operation Sindoor was stopped under any pressure,” Singh said as his statement was followed by uproar from the Opposition.
The Opposition ruckus earlier on Monday resulted in three consecutive adjournments, pushing the start time of the discussion. “If you want to discuss Operation Sindoor, then return to your seats. You all had sought a discussion on it, now you come to the well of the House, is it good? Do you want the debate or not? If yes, then return to your seats,” the Speaker told the Opposition MPs.
The Operation Sindoor debate has taken centrestage on Monday, with the Opposition demanding answers from the government over India’s May 7 to 10 operation against Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack. The Opposition also looks to corner the government over the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 civilians were killed in cold blood.
Top Ministers in the government, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP MPs Anurag Thakur and Nishikant Dubey, will take part in the Lok Sabha. Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi will open the debate for the Opposition.
The discussion in the Rajya Sabha will take place on Tuesday, July 29. Both Houses will hold a 32-hour debate in all on the topic.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a swipe at the Opposition, accusing them of lacking faith in India’s External Affairs Minister while trusting foreign nations.
“I have an objection that they (Opposition) don’t have faith in a foreign minister,er but they have faith in some other country,” Shah said. “I can understand the importance of foreign relations in their party. But this doesn’t mean that all the things of their party should be imposed here in the House.”
No Phone Call Between PM Modi And Trump From April 22 To June 17, Says Jaishankar
Jaishankar clarified in the Lok Sabha that there were no direct phone calls between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump between April 22 and June 17.
Jaishankar also revealed that following India’s retaliatory strikes against Pakistan, India received phone calls indicating Pakistan’s willingness to halt further aggression. However, India made it clear that any such request must come formally from Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO).
“After we retaliated to the Pakistan attack, we got phone calls saying Pakistan was ready to stop; but we told them the request has to come from DGMO,” he said.

Speaking during the Operation Sindoor debate in the Lok Sabha, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said that India’s diplomatic priority after the Pahalgam terror attack was to expose Pakistan’s long-standing use of cross-border terrorism.
