Just hours after a deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam shook the entire country, a series of alleged asset movements by Pakistan surfaced on the internet. Social media is flooded with claims that Pakistan is moving its major aircraft to bases near the Indian border close to Jammu and Kashmir.

Screenshots from the flight tracking website Flightradar24 showing major aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) departing from the Southern Air Command in Karachi for bases in the north near Lahore and Rawalpindi are being widely shared on the microblogging site X.

Notably, the air bases near Lahore and Rawalpindi are near to Indian borders in the northern region.

Social media users in their posts highlighted two specific flights in the posts:

PAF198, a Lockheed C-130E Hercules transport aircraft.PAF101, a smaller Embraer Phenom 100 jet (often used for VIP transport or intelligence operations)

Pahalgam Terror Attack

In one of the biggest attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, Lashkar-e-Taiba-linked terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists in Pahalgam on Tuesday, killing at least 26 people, including foreign tourists, and injuring many others. The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar shadow group, took responsibility for the attack.

Intelligence sources and eyewitnesses told News18 that the terrorists inquired about the religion before shooting the tourists dead. Videos of the attack showed panic and chaos at the tourist spot, termed as “mini Switzerland".
