iPhone users wait for Siri AI version which is delayed till next year by Apple but other AI voice assistants are here to their rescue.

Siri is delayed till 2026 but iPhone users have other AI voice assistants
Apple’s Siri AI faces delay till 2026 but iPhone users don’t need to wait that long for an AI voice assistant to help them with important tasks. Siri is yet to get the Apple AI abilities which has opened the gates for other third-party AI assistants to try their luck and get onto iPhones with these features.
Perplexity is the other ChatGPT rival in the market that is vying for a space on the iPhone with its free AI assistant capable of chatting with the users. You just need the app installed on the device to get started and see what Apple is depriving you of in the AI era.
Perplexity AI Voice For iPhones: What You Get
iPhone users can head over to the App Store, search for Perplexity AI app and download it on their device. Once you have done that, sign in with your Apple or Google account to set up the voice assistant.
The regular Siri on iPhone lets you set reminders, schedule an event and even play tracks from Apple Music. Well, the Perplexity AI assistant will do all of these and more. The AI voice feature will go one step ahead and scan your iPhone calendar and show your upcoming events and meetings.
The AI aspect also familiarises with your prompts so that you don’t need to ask for commands like ‘Open Maps for directions’ and just simply ask for a particular location instead. It can only perform these tasks once you permit the Perplexity app on iOS to access the Calendar, contacts and more.
Of course, some features will remain exclusive to Siri (because, Apple) but it seems like a decent alternative till Apple figures out how to make AI work through its Siri assistant. You also have the Gemini app available for iPhones but the Live feature is free and limited to Android users for now.
Siri’s Loss, Others Gain
Perplexity clearly feels the need to pitch its AI assistant to iPhone users who are still waiting for Siri to mature and give them AI-powered results. The company is facing delays in making Siri smarter and conversational, paving the way for other clients to jump in and save the day.
Apple has sold its recent iPhone 16 series with the promise of bringing AI features at quick pace but we are yet to see those promises fulfilled, forcing consumers to file lawsuit and get the company to stop deceiving people about features that are not yet available.
