During News18 India’s special programme, “Sabse Bada Dangal", Congress national spokesperson Pawan Khera launched a sharp attack on the NDA. Khera provided his own interpretation of the acronym NDA, stating it stands for “No Dulha Available" (No Groom Available), ostensibly a dig at the ruling alliance’s chief ministerial computations for next month’s Bihar elections.

In the same appearance, the Congress leader made a significant claim regarding a prominent BJP veteran, though he refrained from naming the individual. Khera asserted that many BJP leaders were interested in joining the Congress party. He specifically mentioned a time when a “stalwart BJP leader" had sought to join the Congress.

Khera, chairman of the Congress’s media and publicity department, strongly criticised the BJP throughout the discussion. Addressing the speculation of a Muslim deputy chief minister for Bihar if the Mahagathbandhan wins, Khera stated that everyone would be given an opportunity and that “everything has been decided". He affirmed that the Congress party’s principle itself is social justice. When asked about the potential return of Nitish Kumar to the Mahagathbandhan, Khera suggested it was for Kumar to decide whether he wanted to rejoin.

Khera also responded to the contentious issue of possibly discarding the Waqf Act in Bihar. He emphasised that any law should be drafted and implemented with universal consensus, citing the farm laws as an example of legislation that had to be withdrawn due to widespread opposition. Khera stressed the need for a proper discussion on the Waqf Act. Regarding the protest of “tearing up" the bill, he explained that a state government like Bihar has the right to object to a law, and the phrase “throw it away" essentially means registering a strong voice and protest.

News18’s special programme, “Sabse Bada Dangal Bihar 2025", is taking place amid the election season in the state, featuring several major national and state political leaders. The programme was designed to discuss their vision for Bihar’s development and detail various election-related issues.
