NBCC received a ₹179.37 crore PMC order for IIM Sambalpur Phase-II campus, reported 26 percent profit rise, and secured major orders from NALCO and SAIL, boosting its shares by 2.5 percent.

NBCC (India) Ltd on Friday, December 19, said it has received a ₹179.37 crore work order for providing project management consultancy (PMC) services for the Phase-II infrastructure development of the permanent campus of IIM Sambalpur.

In an exchange filing, the state-owned construction and project management firm said the contract has been awarded by the Indian Institute of Management, Sambalpur and falls within the normal course of business. The order is domestic in nature, and no related-party considerations are involved.

The scope of work covers PMC services for the next phase of campus expansion, though NBCC did not disclose the execution timeline.

NBCC reported a 26% rise in its consolidated net profit at ₹153.5 crore for the September 2025 quarter, compared to ₹122 crore a year ago. Revenue from operations rose 19% year-on-year to ₹2,910.2 crore from ₹2,446 crore, reflecting steady execution momentum across its project portfolio.

The PSU's EBITDA stood marginally higher at ₹100.8 crore versus ₹100.3 crore in the same quarter last year, while operating margins contracted slightly to 3.5% from 4% due to cost pressures.

NBCC has been a key player in executing large government and institutional projects across sectors such as education, housing and urban infrastructure. Orders from premier institutions like IIMs add to the company’s steady project pipeline and revenue visibility.

Last week, the company received ₹289.39 crore orders from NALCO and SAIL in addition to five construction and redevelopment orders worth ₹665 crore, which it secured on December 3.

Following the announcement, shares of NBCC surged nearly 2.5% and were trading at ₹110.83 around 11:47 am. The stock has gained 19.28% in this calendar year.
