First Lady Melania Trump has threatened to sue Hunter Biden for “over $1 billion dollars” after he suggested she was introduced to former President Donald Trump by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Melania’s attorney, Alejandro Brito, demanded that Hunter “immediately retract the false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory statements” he made in an interview earlier this month on the YouTube show Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan.
“Failure to comply will leave Mrs. Trump with no choice but to pursue any and all legal rights and remedies available to her to recover the overwhelming financial and reputational harm that you have caused her to suffer,” Brito wrote in an August 6th dated demand letter to Hunter and his lawyer, Abbe Lowell, obtained by Fox News.
Hunter Biden allegedly claimed during the interview that “Epstein introduced Melania to Trump,” according to Brito. “The connections are, like, so wide and deep,” Hunter said, referring to allegations from author Michael Wolff, whom Brito described as a “serial fabulist.”
Melania Trump’s legal team addressed Biden's claim as a baseless rumour designed to draw attention to Biden.
“Given your vast history of trading on the names of others — including your surname — for your personal benefit, it is obvious that you published these false and defamatory statements about Mrs. Trump to draw attention to yourself,” wrote Florida-based attorney Alejandro Brito in the Wednesday, Aug. 6 letter, according to the Fox News report.
Hunter Biden and his legal team are yet to respond pubically to the demand.
