At least 42 people were burnt to death after a bus carrying Umrah pilgrims crashed into a diesel tanker near Medina on Monday, according to local Saudi media reports.
The victims are believed to be Indian nationals, with several reportedly hailing from Hyderabad. The collision caused both vehicles to burst into flames, leaving little time for passengers to escape.
Authorities are working to identify the bodies and determine the exact cause of the accident. Rescue teams and emergency services rushed to the site, but the intensity of the fire made recovery efforts extremely difficult.
