Kolkata-based GPT Infra bags ₹1,804-cr flyover contract from MCGM

The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) project involves the construction of a flyover along LBS Marg, connecting Kalpana Talkies Kurla (L Ward) to Pankhe Shah Dargah Ghatkopar West (N Ward) in the Eastern Suburbs. Shares of GPT Infraprojects Ltd ended at ₹107.99, down by ₹3.54, or 3.39%, on the BSE today, December 18.

Kolkata-based infrastructure firm GPT Infraprojects Ltd on Thursday (December 18) said it has secured a contract valued at ₹1,804.48 crore from the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM).


The project involves the construction of a flyover along LBS Marg, connecting Kalpana Talkies Kurla (L Ward) to Pankhe Shah Dargah Ghatkopar West (N Ward) in the Eastern Suburbs.


The contract will be executed over 36 months, excluding monsoon periods. The project is structured as a joint venture, with GPT Infraprojects holding a 26% share, equivalent to ₹469.16 crore.

The order has been awarded by a domestic entity, and GPT Infraprojects confirmed that neither the promoter nor the promoter group or related companies have any interest in MCGM.


Last week, GPT Infraprojects Ltd had been declared the lowest bidder for a ₹199.17-crore contract from North Eastern Railway to construct substructures and fabricate the superstructure for two major bridges over the Rapti river.


The order covers bridge numbers 247 and 287, each measuring 10x61 metres with double D-type well foundations, designed for double-line traffic with RDSO 25-tonne axle loading standards.

Shares of GPT Infraprojects Ltd ended at ₹107.99, down by ₹3.54, or 3.39%, on the BSE today, December 18.
