Kate Middleton has opened up about the “fear" and “exhaustion" she experienced during her cancer journey in a new video released for World Cancer Day 2026.
The Princess of Wales narrated the video for Kensington Palace’s social media channels, reflecting on her own experiences and offering support to others facing a cancer diagnosis.
Over footage of her visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in January, she said: “On World Cancer Day, my thoughts are with everyone who is facing a cancer diagnosis, undergoing treatment or finding their way through recovery."

She continued: “Cancer touches so many lives. Not only patients, but the families and friends and caregivers who walk beside them. As anyone who has experienced this journey will know, it’s not linear. There are moments of fear and exhaustion. But also moments of strength, kindness, and profound connection."
Kate, who is now in remission after being diagnosed in February 2024, stressed the importance of care, understanding and hope. “Today is a reminder of the importance of care, understanding and hope. Please know you are not alone," she said.
The British royal family shared the video across its social media platforms alongside a separate message from King Charles III.
Speaking for Stand Up To Cancer, the monarch reflected on the comfort found in compassion, expertise, and kindness at every stage of treatment. He thanked everyone who cares for patients, their families, and those who support them in seen and unseen ways.

In his video message, Charles, who is still undergoing treatment himself, said: “I just wanted to ask you to join me today in finding a special place in your hearts and your minds and prayers for the hundreds of thousands of people across our United Kingdom who receive a cancer diagnosis each year and for the millions more who love and care for them."
He further added: “Throughout my own cancer journey I’ve been profoundly moved by what I can only call the community of care that surrounds every cancer patient, the specialists, the nurses, researchers and volunteers who work tirelessly to save and improve lives."
