MLA KA Sengottaiyan called upon party general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami to 'bring back' into the party fold all those who left AIADMK.

AIADMK MLA KA Sengottaiyan has been removed from all the party’s key posts. This comes only a day after he called for reunite expelled leaders.

“KA Sengottaiyan, MLA, who has been holding the posts of Party Organization Secretary and Erode Suburban West District Secretary, is relieved from those responsibilities with effect from today," read the official letter.

On Friday, Sengottaiyan called upon party general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami to “bring back" into the party fold all those who left AIADMK and face the Assembly election as a unified force.

“If Palaniwami fails to initiate steps to bring about unity in the AIADMK in ten days, then we will unite all like-minded people and ensure the party gets strengthened," the former minister told reporters.

However, Sengottaiyan’s plea for rapprochement on the principle of “marappom, mannippon" (forget and forgive) did not go very well with the party.

A senior AIADMK leader said that the party has reiterated many times that the expelled party members won’t be welcomed back.

“Sengottaiyan is only attempting to create confusion in the party. A majority of us are with Palaniswami," a senior leader said.
