The victory of Democrats in mayoral and gubernatorial elections in the US has unnerved Trump ally and MAGA leader Laura Loomer. The far-right activist named Indian-origin Zohran Mamdani and Ghazala Hashmi to claim their victory was an "Islamic takeover" of America. She called the Muslim politicians "jihadists".

Shortly after Democratic candidates, including Indian-origin Zohran Mamdani and Ghazala Firdaus Hashmi, swept elections in the US, US President Donald Trump ally Laura Loomer targeted the winners, particularly its Muslim members, labelling them "jihadist". The far-right activist called their victory an "Islamic takeover of America", saying that it was going to be the number one political issue in the future. The MAGA leader also alleged that Mamdani would encourage Muslims to commit political violence to acquire power and silence critics.
A total of three Democratic candidates of Indian Muslim heritage played key roles in handing Donald Trump his first electoral loss since last November's presidential election.
Trump ally Lomer criticised the Republican for not "doing enough to defeat India-born Ghazala Hashmi".
"Muslim Democrat Ghazala Hashmi has won the election for Virginia lieutenant governor. She is now first Muslim woman elected to statewide office in Virginia. Republicans didn't do anything to stop the rise of jihadist candidates across our country tonight," Loomer wrote on X.
"The Islamic takeover of America is going to be the number one political issue on the ballot in 2026 and 2028," she added.
In a separate post on her podcast X handle, Loomer Unleashed, she questioned Hyderabad-born Hashmi for wearing a headscarf and "speaking in Arabic".
"Democrat Ghazala Hashmi is the new lieutenant governor of Virginia. Hashmi, who was not born in America, attends events wearing a headscarf and speaking Arabic, all while standing behind a giant banner reading, 'He has named you Muslims,'" Loomer wrote in the post, along with a video of Hashmi.
Loomer claimed America faced increased risks as Communism and Sharia were being "normalised".
"America is about to become an ever more violent country as communism and Sharia have become normalized. GOP doesn't seem to want to address the Islam issue," she said in another post.

Laura Loomer also alleged that Mamdani would encourage Muslims to commit political assassinations to acquire power and silence critics.
"During his election victory speech, Zohran Mamdani called for the one million Muslims in NYC to acquire more political power. America is about to become a very violent country. Mamdani will encourage Muslims to commit political assassinations to acquire power and silence critics," she accused Mamdani in the post.
LAURA LOOMER'S ISLAMIST FEARS AND MAGA CROWD
The MAGA crowd also echoed her views on the election results, which came as a setback for Republicans.
"I feel like our country is on the verge of being lost. We were asleep at the wheel while the globalist radicals, hell-bent on destroying Western civilization, patiently and effectively implemented their plans. Hopefully future generations have learned a valuable lesson," a X user, Semper MAGA, wrote.
"We can't survive when one party wants to destroy the country. Accept it and proceed accordingly," another MAGA supporter wrote.
