Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, on Monday, amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam.
The visit follows days after Araghchi proposed to deescalate tensions between Pakistan and India, stating Tehran is prepared to employ its good offices in Islamabad and New Delhi to "forge greater understanding at this difficult time."

According to the military’s media wing, the officials discussed the challenges in the region, especially those affecting the safety and stability of both countries. The officials also reviewed the border security framework between Pakistan and Iran to improve coordination and cooperation.
