Iran mocks Trump with 'Hazardous Waste' meme after midterm drubbing; 'Regime change in US'

Iran's Embassy in India found a rather creative way to rub salt into US President Donald Trump's wounds after the Republicans suffered major setbacks in the November 3 midterm elections. The embassy on Wednesday shared an AI-generated video on X showing a sleepy-looking and visibly exhausted Trump being carried by four men and dumped into a trash bin labelled "Hazardous Waste".

The caption was equally cheeky: "The US midterm elections", accompanied by a laughing emoji.

The video, which appeared to show four men resembling White House officials or security personnel carrying Trump, depicted the US President being unceremoniously tossed into the dumpster. The "Hazardous Waste" label on the bin added another layer of mockery, making the post a pointed political dig at Trump following the Republican Party's electoral setbacks.

The post was shared by the official X account of Iran's Embassy in India, @Iran_in_India, on Wednesday morning. It quickly drew attention for its sarcastic take on the US election outcome.

IRAN USES MIDTERM RESULTS TO MOCK TRUMP

The timing of the post was hard to miss. The November 3 midterm elections dealt a major blow to Trump's Republican Party, with Democrats making significant gains and winning control of both chambers of Congress, according to the election results.

The midterms are traditionally seen as a referendum on the sitting US President's performance, with the results often shaping the political landscape for the remainder of the presidential term.

For Trump, the Republican setbacks mean a tougher political road ahead, particularly as Democrats gain greater leverage in Congress to scrutinise his administration and challenge its legislative agenda.

Iran's embassy appeared to seize on the outcome to take a swipe at the US President, turning the electoral setback into the punchline of an internet meme.
