A shooting involving an Indian-origin man in Portugal has sparked concerns after a purported gangster claimed responsibility for the attack through a series of social media posts and videos. The incident took place in the Cidade Nova area of Odivelas, where Kishor Gujarati, an Indian-origin businessman, was shot by unidentified assailants. A video purportedly showing the shooting has also surfaced online and is being widely circulated on social media.

Following the incident, a social media account operating under the name "Rahul RK Meena" claimed responsibility for the attack. In the post, the account alleged that it had targeted Kishor Gujarati and warned that ignoring its messages would amount to "inviting death." It also issued fresh threats, claiming that several individuals had already been contacted and could be attacked in the future.

The post further mentioned the names of several alleged gangs and individuals, including the Sunil Meena Gang, Aman Sahu Gang, Naresh Abohar and Archit Chaprana, among others. The account also claimed to have a global network and threatened further attacks.

Another video, allegedly released by the same individual, has surfaced online, in which the person appears to claim responsibility for the shooting and describes it as retaliation. The video is being circulated alongside the threatening social media post, raising concerns over the use of online platforms to publicise acts of violence and issue threats.

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING THE SHOOTING

However, there has been no official confirmation from Portuguese authorities regarding the authenticity of the viral posts, videos or the claim of responsibility. Police are investigating the shooting and are also examining the social media content to determine whether it is genuinely linked to the incident.

The attack has drawn attention because of the apparent attempt to publicise the crime through social media. Investigators are expected to examine digital evidence, surveillance footage and forensic material as part of the ongoing probe. Authorities have not yet disclosed the motive behind the attack or confirmed whether it is linked to organised crime or gang rivalry.

The investigation remains underway, and officials have urged the public not to rely on unverified claims circulating on social media until the probe is complete.
