An Indian national was arrested on Friday for attempting to smuggle 10.75 kilograms of Kush, valued at over Rs 100 million (approximately INR 29 million), through Bandaranaike Airport (BIA).

The 43-year-old suspect, a shoe store salesman from New Delhi, was apprehended at the airport’s green channel during a morning operation, according to local media outlet Ada Derana.

Customs officials said the consignment of the high-intoxication cannabis strain was detected using scanning machines at the green channel. Authorities further revealed that the suspect had sourced the Kush from Bangkok, Thailand, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
