As protests continued for the second day in Nepal, the demonstrators on Tuesday pushed the outgoing KP Sharma Oli government to the brink after the Gen Z protesters took to arson and vandalism in various parts of the Himalayan nation. Several videos of the destruction of houses belonging to Nepal’s political leaders are going viral on social media.

The protests have escalated a day after the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli revoked a ban on social media, a key trigger for the nationwide protests.

Amid the ongoing agitation, the Gen Z protestors torched the residence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at Balkot in Bhaktapur. Oli is currently at the Prime Minister’s residence at Balwatar.

Videos of Nepal President Ram Chandra Poudel’s private residence being vandalised by angry protestors is going viral on social media. Videos of the incident have emerged showing demonstrators roaming through the President’s house and vandalising it.

Gen Z protesters have attacked house of Nepal’s President Ram Chandra Poudel.Earlier, protesters also set fire to the house of Communication Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung and pelted stones at Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel’s residence.

The demonstrators had also set fire to the house of Communication Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung and pelted stones at Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel’s residence. Meanwhile, it has been reported that Nepal’s Parliament building in Baneshwar has been set on fire by the demonstrators. 

Residences of Former Nepali Prime Ministers Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda and Sher Bahadur Deuba were also damaged by protestors. The residence of Energy Minister Deepak Khadka was set on fire by protesters.

Meanwhile, many government officials are reported to have left the capital Kathmandu.

As the violence escalated, Oli announced that he has convened an all-party meeting at 6 pm to address the crisis. “I am in dialogue with the relevant parties to assess the situation and find a meaningful conclusion. For that, I have also called an all-party meeting at 6 pm today. I humbly request all brothers and sisters to remain calm in this difficult situation," the Prime Minister said.
