Kirk, 31, a prominent podcast host and radio commentator, was fatally shot Wednesday while speaking at an outdoor event before an audience of about 3,000. Utah Governor Spencer Cox called the killing a “political assassination.”
The shooting, captured on video and widely circulated online, took place during Kirk’s “Prove Me Wrong” campus tour.
Authorities have not confirmed a suspect but said investigators were making progress. President Donald Trump vowed that the killer would be “dealt with very appropriately.”
The FBI’s release of additional images underscores investigators’ reliance on public assistance to track down the gunman, who authorities said used a high-powered rifle from a nearby rooftop before fleeing the scene.
