The United States has announced an immediate and indefinite halt to the processing of all immigration requests related to Afghan nationals, citing the need for a comprehensive review of existing security and vetting procedures. The move effectively freezes visa applications, asylum claims, and other immigration pathways for Afghans until the review is completed.
The move comes after two Guard personnel were shot at by an Afghan national on Thursday near White House on Thursday.
